BEAT THE STREET RE-LAUNCH ALONGSIDE TRANSFORM HOUSING, AND THE SURREY POLICE
London Irish Foundation proudly launched B.E.A.T the Street 3 years ago in 2019.
Initially the project aimed to help people in the Spelthorne area and adjacent Boroughs who are forced to sleep rough for different reasons. The first ‘Hub’ was at Spelthorne Boxing Academy, which opened its doors to homeless people in the area, enabling them to use the gym and boxing equipment supported by Powerday..
Having successfully completed the previous programme we are delighted to announce the relaunch of BEAT the Street 2022 which we hosted at The Boxing Academy in Shepperton.
In attendance we welcomed Cllr Ian Harvey (Mayor of Spelthorne), Cllr Helen Harvey (Mayoress of Spelthorne), Roy Egarr (Surrey Police) and some new friends from Transform Housing Group.
We have now also kicked off plans to begin a Pre 16 BEAT the Street, where we will work closely will the local police force in preventing anti-social behaviour and involvement in gangs and crime.
