IF you haven’t booked your table or individual tickets for May 14 – now is the time to get your places booked as the London Irish Rugby Club team, alongside the London Irish Foundation, are putting the final preparations on the first event of its kind which will celebrate the team’s achievements while raising funds for the foundation.
This black tie, four course culinary feast, prepared for you by Rick Stein’s Group Head Chef, Stephane Delourme, and Paul Bates, Executive Chef at London’s popular Hilton Metropole, will be a night to remember.
These two culinary geniuses have been working hard to create the most delectable plates using the most treasured of Irish ingredients where possible.
‘A Celebration of London Irish’, sponsored by Worldwide Financial Planning, will start at 6.30pm where you’ll be served the most divine canapés, four beautiful courses and petit four patisserie while enjoying a host of live entertainment by The Bible Code Sundays, Emmanuel Smith, the evenings entertainment is "sponsored by Pump Technology". In addition there will be a live auction and plenty of craic and laughter.
The purpose of the celebration is two-fold – to celebrate the huge successes of London Irish and the team during the 2021-2022 season, while raising much needed funds for the London Irish Foundation which carries out such vital work in our local communities.
Mark Bensted, CEO of the London Irish Rugby Club, said: “The success of our players is phenomenal. Not only are they fantastic elite sportsmen, but many are actively involved in the crucial work of our Foundation. May 14 will bring together a host of people to celebrate their success and their contributions in our community.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has booked tables and individual places for ‘A Celebration of London Irish’. We look forward to welcoming sponsors, partners, suppliers, community groups and associations, contractors and indeed everyone who comes to join us.
“Worldwide Financial Planning is our headline sponsor for the evening so a huge thank you to CEO Peter McGahan for bringing Stephane Delourme and Paul Bates together for what will be an exclusive dining experience for everyone attending.
“Tables of 10 can be booked as can individual places for people who wish to get a few friends, associates or family together.”
Andy Keast, CEO of the foundation said: “May 14 will be a night where we can all get together, make memories and raise funds for the foundation and the work we do while celebrating the achievements of the players.
“We engage with communities through sport development, inclusion and education, by using rugby as a vehicle to improve people’s lives. The black tie dinner will help us raise funds to allow us to work in a meaningful way in our communities. It’s about galvanising our community and making our foundation, and the lives of people, sustainable for the future.
Peter McGahan, CEO of Worldwide Financial Planning and personal finance columnist, said: “We are huge rugby fans, we love sustainable cuisine, and our hats go off to everyone who gives up their time to help others in a meaningful and sustainable way. The players at London Irish are a phenomenal bunch of lads who contribute so much to the work of the foundation. We are honoured to champion people who share our firm’s values so to sponsor this event is a real honour.”
